Conference: The Role of Academies in Sustaining European Knowledge Societies in Times of Crisis

The Academy of Sciences of Turin organizes, in cooperation with ALLEA (the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities), the conference "The Role of Academies in Sustaining European Knowledge Societies in Times of Crisis". The event takes place on Thursday 7th (starting from 3:00 pm) and Friday 8th (from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm) November 2019 at Academy of Sciences of Turin - Sala dei Mappamondi (via Accademia delle Scienze, 6 - Turin).

The conference belongs to a series of meetings on the subject Europe on Test: Narratives of Union and Disunion. The general theme of the series is the crisis of the European Union considered from the perspective of the different nations and Academies. More specifically, the conference organized by the Academy of Sciences of Turin will focus on discussing the function of Academies today, both in general and with particular reference to the European crisis. This question will be analysed from different disciplinary perspectives.
