Quality Assessment Research

ANVUR (Agenzia Nazionale di Valutazione del sistema Universitario e della Ricerca) is the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research Systems and it aims at the pursuit and implementation of an effective system of evaluation of education and research at universities.

In November 2011 ANVUR embarked on an evaluation project known as Quality Assessment Research – VQR in order to analyse the research outcomes. The objective is to give a detailed picture of the quality of higher education and research in Italy.

Thanks to this process, we can get a clear measure of the quality of the research produced in Italy, and other relevant factors such as:

  • profile of the tenured personnel;
  • profile of the recruitment policies
  • research training profile;
  • quality profile of research valorisation activities (so-called "Third Mission").

According to the most recent national evaluation assessment conducted by ANVUR, VQR 2015-2019, UniTo is among the top Italian universities with an excellent position in chemistry, biological sciences, health sciences, history, economics and law.
