Enrolment in 5- or 6-year postgraduate degree in Medicine and Surgery, Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry and Orthodontics

- Ministerial Decree no. 71 of 15 May 2025 announced the new procedures for access to 5- or 6-year postgraduate degree course in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Orthodontics and Veterinary Medicine.
How to access to the courses:
- Ministerial Decree no. 418 of 30 May 2025 governs the implementation of the new modalities to access to postgraduate degree courses in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Orthodontics and Veterinary Medicine.
- Ministerial Decree no. 431 of 20 June 2025 governs the Flat Fee and open semester enrolment deadlines, as well as exam dates for access to postgraduate degree courses in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Orthodontics and Veterinary Medicine a.y. 2025-2026.
Starting from a.y. 2025-2026, a new access procedure comes into force for the following postgraduate degree courses in:
- Medicine and Surgery (LM-41)
- Dentistry and Orthodontics (LM-46)
- Veterinary Medicine (LM-42)
The pathway includes a common national (open) filter semester.
All applicants must:
- register on www.universitaly.it
- submit their application between 10:00 a.m. on 23rd June and 5:00 p.m. on 25th July 2025
During compilation:
- you choose the degree class and university location for the filter semester
- indicate at least ten (10) preferred locations to continue the course in the event of admission
- select a second related course (from among Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Animal Sciences or the Health Professions degree courses indicated in the decree)
- at least ten (10) preferred locations are also indicated for the second course
After registering on Universitaly, for those who entered “Turin” as their first choice, it is mandatory to register on UniTo as well.
The steps are:
To register, follow the steps on the page Portal registration instructions.
Log in to the reserved area MyUniTo by entering your username and password and follow the path: Enrolment > Pre-registration for Courses with quota of places > Choice of Course Type: Previous Regulation, Title Type Not Specified, select the competition “Pre-registration for Filter Semester,” and fill out a questionnaire on your preferred type of attendance (in-person or at distance).
After completing step 2 - Pre-registration for the “Filter Semester” competition - wait at least 15 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Log in to the reserved area MyUniTo by entering your username and password and follow the path: Registration > Enrolment > Enrolment in Courses with quota of places > Course Type “Filter Semester Medicine” > Filter Semester.
During registration you are required to attach a valid ID, tax identification number and a photo.
The given definition (e.g. “Semestre Filtro Medicina”) should be selected regardless of the course of interest: Dentistry and and Orthodontics, Veterinary Medicine or Medicine and Surgery. In this procedure you do not have to specify which course you are interested in, you only have to complete the registration.
Pay the fee for the filter semester, according to the instructions in the following paragraph. The receipt should be kept.
Payment deadline: July 25th, 2025, 5:00 p.m.
For filter semester enrolment, a contribution of 250 € is to be paid via PagoPA no later than July 25th, 2025, 5:00 p.m.
Any reductions or waivers are applied in the presence of one of the following conditions:
- -a valid ISEE certificate for the right to university study, with a submission date by July 25th, 2025, duly acquired by UniTo through the INPS/Agenzia delle Entrate systems
- a disability condition of 66 % or more or a disability recognized under Law 104/92.
At the time of registration, the system generates a 250 € payment slip for all students.
Only those who are eligible for exemption due to disability ≥66% or disability (L. 104/92) will immediately display a payment slip with an amount of €0.
Those who have an ISEE ≤30,000 €, valid for the right to university study, with a submission date by July 25th, 2025 will see the payment slip amount automatically updated about 8/12 hours after enrolment, after UniTo gets the ISEE data from INPS/Agenzia delle Entrate.

If near the deadline, the system has not yet updated the payment slip amount according to ISEE:
- It is strongly recommended that you pay the full amount (€250) by July 25th at 5 p.m. in order not to be excluded from the filter semester.
- Any amount paid in excess will be refunded later, should the ISEE show that you are entitled to a reduction or exemption.
For clarification, you can contact the toll-free number 800 098590 (operating Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
It is recommended not to wait until the last days to submit the valid ISEE for the right to university study and complete the registration.
Lectures begin on September 1st, 2025. The University undertakes to organize a part of the lectures in presence, while still ensuring that the lectures will also be delivered online.
National exams will be held on:
- November 20th, 2025 (first session)
- December 10th, 2025 (second session)
The compulsory subjects are Chemistry and Introductory Biochemistry , Physics, Biology (6 CFU each).
Each test has 31 questions. The correction is carried out by CINECA. The marks awarded are:
- +1 for correct answer
- - 0.25 for error
- 0 if not answered.
