Required certification for students with SLD

The SLD certification valid for university purposes:

  • must explicitly refer to ICD-10 F81.0-.1-.2-.3-.8 code (dysgraphia) and/or disorder designation (dyslexia, and/or dysorthography, and/or dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia), as indicated by MIUR in the Guidelines attached to Ministerial Decree 5669/2011
  • must be issued by the National Health Service or, if provided by the regions, by accredited specialists or facilities to the issuing of SLD certification; if it is not explicitly stated in the certification, it will be your responsibility to produce appropriate written documentation, proving the qualification of the accredited specialists or facilities. Please note that, in order to be accepted, the diagnoses released by private (non-accredited) specialists or facilities must be validated by the National Health Service

The date of issue must not exceed 3 years at the time of pre-enrolment/enrolment; however, certifications issued after the age of 18 are considered valid, regardless of the date of issue.

Due to the limitations of the NHS caused by the emergency of Covid-19, if you possess a no recent certification, you can still access to the entrance exams for the degrees with free admission and the degrees with a local restricted number of places. However, in order to benefit from the supports established by law, you will be required to integrate, within the first academic year, the documents valid for university purposes.

The certifications of SEN (Special Educational Needs), when they do not present any SLD, will not be considered and they will not allow, instead, to benefit from the services offered by the University, because they are not recognised by the current regulations related to the university path.

If you are a candidate holding a certification of SLD from a foreign country, you must present a legal translation of the document, translated either into Italian or into English. If you have any doubts about your certification, we invite you to contact us.
