Required certification for students with SLD

The SLD certification valid for university purposes:

  • must explicitly refer to ICD-10 F81.0-.1-.2-.3-.8 code (dysgraphia) and/or disorder designation (dyslexia, and/or dysorthography, and/or dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia), as indicated by MIUR in the Guidelines attached to Ministerial Decree 5669/2011
  • must be issued by the National Health Service or, if provided by the regions, by accredited specialists or facilities to the issuing of SLD certification; if it is not explicitly stated in the certification, it will be your responsibility to produce appropriate written documentation, proving the qualification of the accredited specialists or facilities. Please note that, in order to be accepted, the diagnoses released by private (non-accredited) specialists or facilities must be validated by the National Health Service

The date of issue must not exceed 3 years at the time of the submission of your certification (the reference is to the year of issue, therefore all certifications issued starting from the 1st of January of the third year preceding enrolment in the test/course of study are considered valid). However, certifications issued after the age of 18 are considered valid, regardless of the date of issue. If you do not have an updated certification, for a test or for a course of study, contact us for more information on possible paths.

The certifications of SEN (Special Educational Needs), when they do not present any SLD, cannot be accepted to benefit from compensatory tools during admission tests, because they are not recognised by the current regulations related to the university path.

If you are a candidate holding a certification of SLD from a foreign country, you must present a legal translation of the document, translated either into Italian or into English. If you have any doubts about your certification, we invite you to contact us.
