The University of Turin, under the multi-year agreement (2019-2021) with Compagnia di San Paolo, supported the Athenaeum research as a means to strengthen its international competitiveness in acquiring external resources. This initiative aimed to enhance the research capacity of UniTo research groups that have received positive international evaluations but have not received funding.
Through the Call for Funding Ex-Post of the University Research Projects - Year 2020, a dedicated intervention line has been established to contribute to the development of UniTo researchers in preparation for their participation in competitive international funding opportunities.

With the 2018 Call for Research Internationalization, the aim was to invest in the internationalization of research to strengthen UniTO’s presence within the international scientific community. This was to be achieved by consolidating ties with highly qualified foreign universities and research centers. The call was intended to promote outgoing mobility to enhance the CVs of non-tenured department staff who had not received MIUR funding as “Departments of Excellence.”
