International and European funding
UniTo actively participates in EU and international programmes including:
Horizon Europe is the European Framework Programme for research and innovation funded by the European Commission and active until 2027.
Within Horizon Europe, UniTo participates in the KICs (Knowledge and Innovation Communities) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, the body that has supported innovation at a European level since 2008.
Creative Europe is the main European programme supporting the cultural and audiovisual sectors. The programme invests in actions that strengthen cultural diversity and respond to the needs and challenges of the cultural and creative sectors.
Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV)
The CERV programme aims to protect and promote the rights and values of the Union as enshrined in the EU Treaties and the Charter of Fundamental Rights. It also helps support and further develop open, rights-based, democratic, fair and inclusive societies based on the rule of law.
Digital Europe aims to bring digital technology to businesses, citizens, and public administrations, enabling the digital transformation of the EU.
The EU4Health programme helps to address long-term health challenges by creating stronger, more resilient and more accessible health systems.
European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST)
The COST programme funds interdisciplinary research networks called COST Actions. These bring together researchers and innovators with other professionals to collaborate on research topics over a 4-year period and finance meetings, training schools, short-term scientific missions, and other networking activities.
The Justice Programme finances judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, supporting the training of judges and other legal professionals and effective access to justice for citizens and businesses.
The LIFE Programme aims to contribute to a just transition towards a sustainable, circular, energy-efficient, renewable-based, climate-neutral, and resilient economy.
Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP)
CDMRPs are programs of the US Department of Defense, which receives appropriations from Congress for biomedical research in specific medical fields.
The institutes and centres of the US federal agency NIH (National Institutes of Health) regularly publish Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) that can support research in an understudied scientific area, exploit current scientific opportunities, or address needs in research training and infrastructure.
Through its AXA Research Fund, AXA wishes to encourage and support research relating to major changes in modern-day society and the associated risks, notably in the area of socio-economics, health, new technologies, and the environment.
