Theater for Development

The seminar "Theatre in and for Development Cooperation, Social Engagement and Environmental Awareness" will take place on 20th June 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Sala Grande Rossa of the Campus Luigi Einaudi (Lungo Dora Siena, 100 - Torino).

Theatre is an extraordinary tool for reflection and involvement, used in various fields and in particular in development cooperation, in conflict situations, and in environmental awareness-raising initiatives.

The seminar will be followed in the evening by the theatre laboratory "Theater in Humanitarian Work" (from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm, in Spazio Viale Mai, Campus Luigi Einaudi, with entrance from Viale Ottavio Mario Mai n. 43) with Angelo Miramonti. This workshop is mainly aimed at students, with the objective of providing an introduction to the use of theatre in humanitarian work in natural disaster prevention, peacebuilding, gender equity, etc.  Registration is required by 16th June, 2023.

These events are intended to be an opportunity to take stock of theatrical experiences of research-action and awareness-raising with a research seminar in which the Social Community Theatre Centre, the Italian Federation of Theatre Therapy and the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Cali, Colombia, are collaborating.
