Women in Mathematics Day

On Friday 12th May 2023, at 9 a.m. in Aula S of Palazzo Campana, Via Carlo Alberto 10 in Turin, on the occasion of the international Women in Mathematics Day, a meeting is scheduled to raise awareness of the gender gap in STEM. The event is organised by the Department of Mathematics "Giuseppe Peano" of the University of Turin and the 'G. Lagrange' Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Turin.

 

During the morning session, young female PhD students will introduce their research work in the fields of Pure and Applied Mathematics, Physics and Computer Sciences. In the afternoon session, a discussion on the gender gap in STEM by Norma De Piccoli (CIRSDe - University of Turin), Giulia Ferrari (University of Turin), Francesca Tampone (Università di Milano Bicocca and FRidA), Greta Temporin - PoliTo.

 

At the end of the event, the speakers of the afternoon session will participate in a panel discussion.
