The University of Turin and CIRSDe invite you to take part in the UniSAFE survey which aims to better understand the prevalence of gender-based violence in research performing organisations and universities.

UniSAFE is an EU-funded research project that aims at eradicating gender-based violence from the research sector. The survey results will be combined with qualitative evidence in a multi-level study design and translated into operational tools for research organisations and policymakers. Over 45 universities and research organisations from 15 European countries are participating in the UniSAFE survey – the largest of its kind in Europe in the research sector.

Gender-based violence is violence directed towards a person because of their gender or violence that affects persons of a specific gender disproportionally. It is not limited to violence against women and it may affect all people.

Participation in the survey will be anonymous and it will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. All data gathered via this survey are completely anonymised, with no possibility of re-identifying individuals and aggregated to rule out any potential breach of confidentiality. The University of Turin will only have access to the anonymised institutional data. The UniSAFE research team welcomes responses from all genders and from all staff and students.

Whether you yourself have experienced gender-based violence or not, your input will contribute to creating solid, measurable evidence on the persistent and often under-reported issue of violence in academia and research. UniSAFE acknowledges the personal and sensitive nature of this research and puts ethics at the forefront of its activities.
