Museums

Turin's rich museum offerings provide visitors a unique and varied experience.

 

Some of the most famous ones:

  • Egyptian Museum: one of the most significant examples of Egyptian art in Europe, with over 5,000 items.
  • Natural Science Museum: it can be considered a landmark in the local scientific world, with over 15,000 items
  • National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento: it preserves the very first Italian Parliament and the most significant evidences of the unification process of Italy.
  • National Cinema Museum:this museum, located inside the Mole Antonelliana, is unique for its peculiarity of being interactive and for its itinerary which guides visitors through the history of the “seventh art”.
  • Museum of Contemporary Art: since 1984, the baroque Rivoli Castle has hosted one of the most importan and internationally known museums of contemporary art in Italy. Masterpieces of famous contemporary artists can be admired here.
  • Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery (GAM): the rich collection includes more than 45,000 artistic works, retracing art history in Italy from the 19th century.
