Unesco Chair

The Unesco Chair in Sustainable Development and Territory Management was established in 2010 at the University of Turin to promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the field of sustainable development and management of territory and facilitating international cooperation and dissemination of research results between research institutions and universities in Italy and in the world, with particular interest to Latin America and the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The Unesco Chair in Economics of culture and heritage strategies for protection and development was established in 2022 at the University of Turin to better understand how culture can contribute to sustainable economic development, and identify effective strategies and policies, paying attention also to the threats to heritage sites (i.e. tourism pressure and volatility, climate change, disasters, conflicts).
