Unlocking the Reusable Packaging Revolution
The Department of Management at the University of Turin has been selected as a partner for EU Green Week 2025, to which it will contribute with the event Unlocking the Reusable Packaging Revolution. The event will take place on 13th June 2025 - 10:00 a.m., at ESCP Business School (via Andrea Doria, 27).
This will be an opportunity for discussion to promote sustainable and reusable packaging practices within urban food systems. By bringing together key industry players, it aims to inspire collective action toward a future with less waste and more circular, lower-impact food packaging.
The focus of the event will be on the adoption and implementation of a new "blueprint" model for high-performance, adaptable, urban reusable packaging systems. The benefits, challenges, and potential of these systems to reduce single-use plastics and related waste will be examined.
"To meet the EU’s waste prevention and reuse targets under the PPWR (Plastic and Plastic Waste Regulation), well-designed local reuse systems are essential. However, reuse systems alone won’t drive the necessary system change — national and local governments must also adopt complementary policy measures, particularly economic instruments, to create a level playing field for reuse."
— Larissa Copello, Packaging & Reuse Policy Officer at Zero Waste Europe.
The event is organized by the University of Turin (Department of Management "Valter Cantino"), Mercato Circolare and Around, in collaboration with ESCP Business School (Turin).
Seats are limited, so early registration is recommended.
