M'illumino di meno - no borders

On the evening of February 16th 2024, on the occasion of the 20th edition of M'illumino di Meno - National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles promoted by Rai Radio2, the University of Turin will symbolically switch off the Rector's Palace together with 7 other European universities that are partners of the UNITA Alliance.

Université degli Studi di Brescia (Italy), Université Savoie Mont Blanc (France), Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain), Universidade da Beira Interior and Instituto Politécnico da Guarda (Portugal), Transilvania University of Brasov and West University of Timisoara (Romania) will participate in the event, raising awareness, including energy-saving tips, among a transnational university community of more than 200,000 people.

In addition to raising community awareness, the University of Turin has been committed to energy efficiency in its facilities for years, and since 2016, between self-produced energy and energy purchased with the "green" option, it has minimized the use of fossil fuels for electricity supply. The Athenaeum self-produces energy through photovoltaic panels, three tri-generators and a micro-generator.

In addition, on February 16th, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the University of Turin's UniToGO Green Office, through the Energy and Climate Change Groups and the Adaptation and Mitigation Plans Coordination, is organizing a seminar at the Luigi Einaudi Campus (Sala Lauree Rossa Grande) to present the results of the University of Turin's CO2 Emissions Inventory (2022), a document that calculates and monitors the climate-altering emissions produced annually by the University.

The open meeting aims to discuss the University's energy and climate initiatives and will also be accessible online:
