Academic Year 2025–2026
“Piemove – Piemonte Travels and Studies”
The University of Turin participates in “Piemove – Piemonte Viaggia Studia”, an initiative promoted by the Piedmont Region to encourage sustainable mobility among young people and to promote the use of local public transport. The project is carried out with the support of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the University of Turin, the Polytechnic University of Turin, the University of Eastern Piedmont, the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, and the CRT Foundation.
Starting from the 2025–2026 academic year, university students under the age of 26 will be able to travel free of charge on urban public transport in the participating provincial capitals (Turin, Asti, Biella, Cuneo, Novara, and Vercelli).
The free travel pass “Piemove” is reserved for:
- students under 26 years of age
- students enrolled at the University of Turin, the Polytechnic University of Turin, or the University of Eastern Piedmont in first- or second-cycle degree programs or doctoral programs for academic year 2025–2026, or for academic year 2024–2025 if they are due to graduate by the extraordinary session
- students holding a valid ISEE of up to €85,000
The pass allows unlimited travel:
- on the urban networks of the provincial capital cities participating in the initiative
- in Turin, also on the GTT suburban network and on the urban railway service, including the route to Grugliasco.
- Validity: 12 months, with automatic six-month verification of eligibility requirements (age and university enrollment)
- A minimum usage of 60 validations per year is required
- Valid also during the summer months
You can apply starting from 18 August 2025, exclusively online, through the official website bip.piemonte.it.
From Monday, 13 October 2025, the BIP Portal provides a dedicated registration and access function for international students without SPID or CIE who wish to apply for PIEMOVE.
The free pass will be valid from September 2025.
