The second edition of the Queer Studies course is starting
The Queer Studies course is a 6-ECTS multidisciplinary course that, through a series of different sessions, addresses some of the classic themes of queer theory (sexual and gender orientation, feminism, the intersectionality of different forms of discrimination), as well as topics usually explored from other perspectives (medicine, architecture, theatre, etc.) through the lenses of queer theory.
The course, which will be taught entirely in English, involves the participation of several professors from different disciplinary fields (Law, Political Science, Medicine, Literature, Languages, Psychology, History, etc.), as well as experts from the professional world and from civil society.
The course will start in the second semester of the current academic year (2025–2026).
Students from almost all degree programmes at the University of Turin (both Italian- and English-taught programmes) may enrol in the course. To find out whether your degree programme allows you to include Queer Studies in your study plan, please contact your Students registry office.
How to enrol:
- Undergraduate students: select Queer Studies from the drop-down menu as a 6-ECTS free-choice course in your study plan or, where this is not possible, contact your Students’ Office and request that the course be added to your study plan
- Postgraduate students/ students enrolled in single-cycle degree programmes: contact your Students registry office and ask to add the course to your study plan, as it is not possible to do so directly.
