Access to MyUniTo for Teaching Appointees and to online services
SCU credentials (Unified Credentials System), consisting of a username and password, allow you to access your reserved MyUniTo area and a wide range of online services offered by the University of Turin that are useful for your academic career. In particular, you will be able to:
- use services related to your teaching activities (exam timetable, class register, online recording of exams, etc.)
- access the University Intranet reserved for staff
- use a staff webmail account for institutional communications
- connect free of charge to the Wi-Fi network available at the various University locations.
SCU credentials are assigned within 24–48 hours from the date of employment.
The first check you can perform to verify that the process has been completed successfully is to search for your name in the University People Directory: if the search returns a positive result, the SCU credentials have been correctly assigned and are ready for use.
Credentials are strictly personal and must be safeguarded with the same care as a bank card PIN.
Who can access MyUniTo for Teaching Appointees?
Access to the University portal and online services is granted to staff members who need to use them for teaching-related activities, in particular:
- adjunct professors and accredited visiting professors, whose access rights are assigned by the Digital Identity Officers (RIF) following a specific request submitted via the Service Desk.
What are my SCU credentials?
Username: generally (except in cases of double first names, double surnames or homonymy), the username consists of the first letter of the first name followed by the letters of the surname, up to a maximum of 8 characters
(e.g. for the user Mario Rossettini, the username will be mrossett).
The credentials (username and password) used to access the University portal and online services are the same as those used to access the institutional email account.
The same applies to users who use “local” email systems (generally identifiable by addresses such as [email protected]
What if I don’t remember my password or want to change it?
f you cannot remember the password you chose, you can use the Remind me of my password service. To change it, follow the instructions on the ‘Change your password’ page.
What happens when the employment relationship ends?
From the end of the employment relationship or any other form of collaboration with the University (retirement, contract expiry, resignation, etc.), access to online services and SCU credentials (username and password) will remain active for one year, except in cases of suspension of activity with a subsequent extension of the deadline.
At the same time as the end of the employment relationship with the University, the user’s details will no longer be visible in the University People Directory.
