Peer-to-peer tutoring for students with disability
Who It Is Carried Out By
The peer academic tutoring service is provided by students who have been awarded a specific scholarship, aimed at supporting learning processes and fostering full participation in teaching activities.
Type of Activities
The tutor can support you with the following activities:
- assistance during lectures, to encourage regular attendance and active participation;
- organisation of study time and learning materials;
- discussion of exam content;
- reading texts aloud;
- support in retrieving academic and/or administrative information;
- assistance with completing administrative procedures (e.g. study plan preparation, exam registration, etc.) and support in becoming familiar with the university environment.
How to apply
To request the service, please complete the tutoring request form and send it by email to the Section at [email protected]. The tutor is usually assigned within 15 days of receipt of the request.
If you require in-class support, please remember to submit the form at least 15 days before the start of the courses you intend to attend.
Incomplete forms or requests submitted after the deadline will make it impossible to activate the service.
Peer Tutoring for the filtering semester
If you are a student with a disability, enrolled in the filtering semester of the single-cycle Master’s degree programmes in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, or Veterinary Medicine (which follow pathways different from standard degree programmes), and you require support to face your academic journey, you may contact the Student Inclusion Services Section, which can provide you with a peer tutor.
The purpose of peer tutoring is to support you in planning your study activities and preparing the necessary materials, helping you with organisation and time management, and promoting active dialogue with the various stakeholders involved in your degree programme. Peer tutors can therefore help you, for example, to:
- review and collect the recommended study materials;
- check the organisation of the filtering semester;
- receive support with bureaucratic and administrative matters;
- understand how to organise your study activities effectively;
- communicate with lecturers or University offices.
To request the service, please send an email to [email protected], specifying the subject line: “Filtering semester – Peer Tutoring”.
Once requests have been received, the Section will carry out the necessary checks and will provide feedback as soon as possible, in accordance with available timeframes and resources.
