Entering UniTo for students with disability

To enrol in a degree programme at the University of Turin, you must sit an admission test (TARM or admission test).

Please note that, if your disability and/or invalidity certification is not recent, requests for support measures and/or additional time may be assessed in accordance with Ministerial Guidelines. If the request is accepted, a certification valid for university purposes will in any case be required within the first academic year.

Certifications for EES (Special Educational Needs) or BES (Special Educational Needs) that do not indicate the presence of Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) do not allow requests for support during admission tests, as they are not recognised by the current regulations governing university education.

If you are a candidate with a disability certification issued in an EU or non-EU country and residing abroad, and you wish to benefit from personalised support, you must submit a legalised certification issued in your country of residence, certifying a diagnosis recognised under Italian law. Certifications drawn up in a foreign language must be accompanied by a sworn translation or a translation certified by the Italian diplomatic authorities, consistent with the original text, in Italian or English.

The competent University bodies will verify that the documentation submitted is suitable for granting the requested support measures.

To better plan your admission to UniTo and request further information, you may send an email to [email protected].
You may also contact us if you have any questions regarding procedures related to requests for support measures for assessment tests or admission to master’s degree programmes, postgraduate courses, advanced training courses, specialisation programmes, and similar pathways.

If you hold a disability certification or a certificate of invalidity (50% or higher), you may request support measures and/or additional time, in accordance with the following guidelines and validity criteria.

You must have a disability certificate with a percentage equal to or greater than 50% or a disability certificate in accordance with Law 104/92.

If you are a student with a disability and have a certificate issued outside Italy with a diagnosis recognized by Italian university regulations, you must obtain a certified translation into Italian or English.

A mandatory remote test (TOLC@Casa), administered by the CISIA Consortium, is required and can be taken on multiple dates. Please note that, in addition to taking the TOLC@Casa test, you must also apply to the rankings of the degree programmes you are interested in within the specified deadlines. For detailed information on procedures and deadlines, please regularly consult the Enrolment section.

When creating and activating your CISIA profile, you must declare that you are a candidate with a disability, then upload your invalidity/disability certification and complete the specific request form for additional time (for candidates with disabilities, equal to 50% extra time) and/or assistive tools.
Some support measures are provided directly within the TOLC delivery platform (additional time, non-scientific calculator, font enlargement, etc.); any further support measures may be arranged by the University.

Please note that the use of tools such as dictionaries and/or vocabularies, formula sheets, the periodic table of elements, concept maps, computers (other than those provided for taking the test), tablets, smartphones, smart glasses, or similar devices is not permitted under any circumstances.

For locally regulated degree programmes that do not adopt the TOLC@Casa tests, please refer to the specific admission call and the Enrolment page for further details.

Please consult the Enrolment section and carefully read the information provided on the page regarding procedures and deadlines for registering for the tests and enrolling in these degree programmes.
Also consult the instructions set out in the admission call(s) you intend to apply for, which include details on how to correctly submit your application, the test date, exam subjects, and other relevant information. Pay close attention to deadlines.

The tests will be administered in person.

When registering for the test(s), you must declare that you are a candidate with a disability, upload your invalidity/disability certification, and complete the specific request form for additional time (for candidates with disabilities, equal to 50% extra time) and/or assistive tools.

Only if you are required to take the Medicine and Surgery (IMAT) test, please send your certification and your support request by email to [email protected].

Please note that the use of tools such as dictionaries and/or vocabularies, formula sheets, the periodic table of elements, concept maps, computers (other than those provided for taking the test), tablets, smartphones, smart glasses, or similar devices is not permitted under any circumstances.

For information on enrollment procedures, you can consult the page Enrolment in 5- or 6-year postgraduate degree in Medicine and Surgery, Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry and Orthodontics.

At present, information on the academic organization of the filter semester or on the procedures for taking the scheduled assessments is not yet available. Further details will be provided as soon as possible.

To enroll in open-access bachelor's degree programs and the single-cycle master's degree program in Law, you must take the TARM (Minimum Requirements Assessment Test) administered through the TOLC@Casa tests by the CISIA Consortium, which can be taken on multiple dates. You will also need to follow the procedures and complete the pre-enrollment and enrollment procedures by the deadlines.

To find out which TOLC you will need to take and to check procedures and deadlines, please consult the Enrollment page regularly.

When creating and activating your CISIA profile, you will need to declare that you are a candidate with a disability, then attach your disability certificate and fill out the appropriate questionnaire to request additional time (50% for candidates with disabilities) and/or aids. Some aids will be provided directly within the TOLC delivery platform (additional time, non-scientific calculator, character enlargement, etc.); additional aids may be provided by the University.

Please note that, in any case, tools such as dictionaries and/or vocabularies, forms, periodic tables of elements, concept maps, computers (other than those provided for the test), tablets, smartphones, smart glasses, and other similar tools are not permitted.
