Funds TOgether 2026 edition
Funds TOgether has entered its fourth edition! The University of Turin’s crowdfunding program supports research and innovation projects with an impact on society.
On 16th April 2026, the online presentation event took place, open to the entire UniTo community. During the meeting, the program’s features, opportunities for selected teams, and application procedures were presented, along with testimonials from previous editions.
Below is a summary of the main participation procedures.
How to apply
Registration for the crowdfunding course opens on 20th April 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and will remain open until all spots are filled (maximum 20 teams).
Participation in the training is mandatory in order to submit a project.
At least one team member must attend all sessions. The course provides the skills needed to design an effective crowdfunding campaign.
At the end of the training, each team will develop a complete draft of the campaign (content, funding goal, rewards and communication strategy).
The proposal must be submitted on the crowdfunding platform by June 2026, by creating a dedicated project profile.
How it works
Training
All participants must enroll in a practical crowdfunding course, which is required to submit a project. The training provides skills in campaign design, content creation, communication strategies, and supporter management.
Project submission
At the end of the training, teams submit a complete campaign proposal, including texts, financial goals, rewards, and the script for the promotional video.
Evaluation
A committee from the University of Turin and the Ginger platform evaluates proposals based on scientific quality, interdisciplinarity, and the effectiveness of the crowdfunding campaign. Five projects will be selected. The results of the selection will be communicated by the end of June.
Support and launch
Selected teams receive personalized support from a campaign manager and assistance in promoting and producing campaign content. The online launch is scheduled for mid-September 2026, followed by the official launch during the European Researchers’ Night.
Co-funding
The five selected projects publish their campaign on the Ginger platform and, upon reaching 100% of the funding goal, the University of Turin doubles the funds raised, up to a maximum of €10,000 per project.
Campaigns last between 30 and 60 days and follow an “all-or-nothing” model: funds are disbursed only if the financial goal is reached.
Selected teams receive continuous support from the campaign manager, assistance in content production, and visibility through the University’s official channels.
