Peer-to-peer tutor for students with SLD

Who provides the service

The peer academic tutoring service is provided by students who have been awarded a specific scholarship, whose purpose is to support learning processes and promote full participation in educational activities.

Type of tutoring

The tutor can support you in the following activities:

  • organizing your study schedule and course materials
  • discussing exam content
  • reading texts or other teaching materials when it is not possible to use autonomous digital reading systems (dedicated software, audiobooks, etc.)
  • assistance with administrative procedures (e.g. study plan preparation, exam booking, etc.) and support in becoming familiar with the university environment (e.g. help in retrieving academic and/or administrative information).

How to request it

To request the service, complete the tutoring request form and send it to the Section by email at [email protected]. The tutor is usually assigned within 15 days of receipt.
Incomplete forms or forms not submitted within the required timeframe will make it impossible to activate the service.

Peer tutoring for the filter semester

If you are a student with SLD enrolled in the filter semester of the single-cycle master’s degree programs in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, or Veterinary Medicine (which follow pathways different from standard degree programs), and you need support to face this academic path, you can contact the Student Inclusion Services Section, which may offer you a peer tutor.

The role of peer tutoring is to help you plan your study activities and prepare the necessary materials, support you in organizing and managing your time, and promote active dialogue with the various figures involved in your degree program. Tutors can help you, for example, to:

  • review and collect the recommended materials
  • understand the organization of the filter semester
  • receive support with bureaucratic and administrative aspects
  • learn how to organize your study activities
  • facilitate communication with instructors or University offices

To request the service, you must send an email to [email protected], specifying the subject line: “Filter semester – Tutoring”.

Once requests are received, the Section will carry out the necessary checks and provide feedback as soon as possible, in line with available timelines and resources.

  • If clarification is needed regarding the information you provided in the form, we will contact you to review your requests together.
  • The identification of tutors and the timing of service assignment depend on the availability of students included in the relevant ranking lists.
  • The total number of peer tutoring hours that can be individually assigned depends on the available resources and the assessed level of need.

To ensure continuity of the service, it is necessary to sit for and take exams.
