Buddy project
With “Buddy Project – Do you need suppor-TO?” The University of Turin offers an induction and assistance system for international students enrolling on a study course or undertaking a mobility period at the University. Those arriving from abroad are supported by University students, who are properly enrolled and have adequate language skills, in a peer tutoring approach.
The project has a twofold objective:
- to allow international students to familiarize themselves with the new academic, cultural, and linguistic context, both before arriving in Italy and during their first months there
- to offer UniTo students the opportunity to internationalize their educational experience directly at the University.
The Buddy experience is in fact synonymous with mutual collaboration and exchange and constitutes an experience of global citizenship.
How to get in touch with those who play the role of Buddy
If you are an international student at UniTo, you will come into direct contact with the person who plays the role of Buddy.
Once in Italy, you will be able to meet your Buddy and discover the University through the eyes of a local person. Getting to know your Buddy will help you settle in more easily and fully experience your new environment right from the start.
Whoever supports you in the role of Buddy will help you to:
- receive information and clarify doubts about your course at UniTo
- receive information on the services offered by the University, such as libraries, study rooms, administration offices, university cafeterias, sports activities, etc.
- receive information regarding healthcare, residence permits, and housing.
