Students webmail service

The student email service is provided through Google Workspace for Education Plus.

The service

To access the email service, you must log in using your SCU credentials, the same credentials you use to access MyUniTo and the other online services on the University portal.

Features

With your account, you are provided with:

  • An email address in the format [email protected]
(UsernameStudente is the username students normally use to access all online services on the University portal).
  • A total of 50 GB of storage shared across all services associated with your account (Gmail, Drive, etc.).
  • Online collaboration services, such as Drive (for file storage and sharing), Calendar (for sharing appointments), Keep (to create, share and manage notes and reminders), and Tasks (to plan and track daily activities).
  • Improved integration of the email service with smartphones and tablets (please refer to the user manual for configuration instructions).

If you reach the 50 GB storage limit:

  • Drive: you will no longer be able to sync or upload new files, nor create new files in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings or Forms. Until you reduce the amount of storage used, neither you nor others will be able to edit or copy your files. Synchronisation between the Google Drive folder on your computer and My Drive will be suspended.
  • Gmail: you will still be able to send and receive emails, but you will not be able to save email attachments to Drive.

Access from mobile devices

If you are unable to access your UniTo email account from mobile devices, please refer to the instructions provided by Google (if the app/device is updated to the latest version, this issue should not occur).

IMAP/POP protocols are considered by Google as “less secure apps”; therefore, you must allow access to your email account by following the instructions provided on the Google Support page.

What do you need to do?

What should you do if you still experience issues?

If, on the previous system, you had set up email forwarding to a personal email address, you must configure it again on the new system, as this setting is not transferred automatically.
