Step 3 - Welcome and enrolment at UniTo

Verify the required documents for the enrolment

Make sure to verify which documents are required for the enrolment depending on your status and the degree program you wish to enrol for.

Please note that if upon enrolment you have not submitted all required documents for enrolment at the International Students Desk you will be placed on conditional enrolment (you may attend classes, but you will not be able to fulfill your “piano carriera” nor to take any exam) and you will need to submit the missing documents within a given deadline, otherwise your enrolment will be cancelled.

Before arriving in Italy and completing the enrolment process, make sure to read the fact sheet and fill in the mandatory disclaimer.

Register to the UniTO web portal

Register as a prospective student on UniTo web portal. For step-by-step instructions on how to register, please refer to this tutorial:

Take the admission test (for degree programs with restricted number of places only)

If the degree program you applied for has a quota of places (the so called degree programs “ad accesso programmato” meaning that an admission exam is required to enrol), please be aware that in order to enrol you have to register for and take the admission exam within the deadlines stated in each call for admissions (“bando”).

You may always verify if the degree program you wish to enrol for requires an admission exam on UniTo website and on the degree program description on Apply@UniTo.

Take TARM (Assessment of Minimum Requirements)

In order to enroll in programs without restricted number of places, you will have to take the TARM test, which will be held through the TOLC test offered by CISIA. We invite you to visit the page Enrolment Procedure to verify to which type of TOLC you will have to register for, based on the program you have chosen.

Information on the test dates and on the registration procedure is published on the CISIA website. The test can be taken at any session offered by any Italian university, both in presence (at the University) or at a distance (through the TOLC@HOME format). If you are a non-eu student residing abroad, you will have to take and register your TOLC results on the universitaly portal within July 16th, 2021.

The minimum results required in order to pass the test are:

  • TOLC-E: 16/36
  • English TOLC-E: 10/23
  • TOLC-SU: 22/50
  • TOLC-S: 16/50

If you obtain a score below the minimum required, you will still be able to enroll for the program you are interested in, but you will be asked to complete an Additional Educational Obligation (OFA), which will consists in:

  • for candidates with foreign citizenship:
    • an Italian language course with a final test, which you have to pass by the end of the academic year (September 30th, 2022)

      or, in alternative

    • candidates can provide a B2 level, or higher, Italian language Proficiency Certificate issued by: University for Foreigners of Perugia, University for Foreigners of Siena, Rome Tre University and the Dante Alighieri Society

  • for candidates with italian citizenship: you will be assigned the OFA selected by the degree program of your choice. Information on the contents and on the regulations of this additional requirement will be published on the degree program website
  • for candidates wishing to enroll in the degree program Global Law and Transnational Legal Studies: students enrolling in the degree program Global Law and Translation Legal Studies (no matter their citizenship), who obtain a score below 10/23, will be required to attend an English language course, as the program is entirely held in English. The course has a final test, which you have to pass by the end of the academic year (September 30th, 2022).

If you do not pass the test, your career will be blocked and you won’t be able to keep studying in UniTo.

In order to enroll in the University of Turin, all candidates will have to register to the UniTo competition specific for the degree program of their choice, through the MyUniTo, under Enrollments - Evaluation test and selecting the corresponding competition call.

All the different types of Additional Educational Obligation (OFA) are organized by the University of Turin and are free of charge.
