Accompanying students to university facilities

Who gives support

Support is given by students who have been awarded a study grant.

Type of support

The service consists in the physical accompanying to the various university facilities and to all those structures where didactic activities take place, for students with mobility and/or visual impairments. Meeting points can be to and from university residences, bus terminals, railway stations, private houses (only with prior authorization) etc, only within the district of Turin, from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 

The service can be requested for a possible lunch break between morning and afternoon classes (no more than two hours), only by those who are not able to eat on their own.

 

The service can be offered (but it is not guaranteed in any case) before 8.00 a.m. or on Saturdays (the availability of the driver will be verified in advance).

How to request the service

In order to request the service, students must fill in the form at the beginning of each semester, and send it to Ufficio Studenti con Disabilità e DSA, within 15 days of the start of the courses they want to attend (courses and timetables are available on the website of their respective departments). If the form is only partially filled in or does not meet the deadline, the service cannot start.

Once the service is started, the requests must be always confirmed or modified every week by Tuesdays at 2.00 p.m., considering Tuesdays preceding the week when the service is provided, only by e-mail to: accompagnamento.disabili@unito.it

 

Every other change to the above-mentioned request must be sent to Ufficio Studenti con Disabilità e DSA, at least two days before the service is provided.

Further information

For all the requests that do not meet the deadline, the service is not guaranteed.

 

In case a service, which has already been reserved, is cancelled, students must (promptly and mandatorily) inform both the Ufficio Studenti con Disabilità e DSA and the driver.

 

If the cancellation is not notified for more than three times, the service will be suspended.
 

The same type of service cannot be provided in the following academic years for the courses that have already been attended, unless there are justified reasons.

 

University of Turin reserves the right to approve or reject the requests, depending on the available resources and their real benefits, proceeding with any necessary verification.

 

The continuity of the services is subject to passing the exams.
