Guido Boella was Director of the Computer Science Department and member of the Academic Senate of the University of Turin from 2018-2021.His research activity concerns the fields of artificial intelligence, legal informatics, geoinformatics and blockchain. He has built software such as the FirstLife social network and the Commonshood blockchain wallet app. Participated in technology transfer projects to companies.He founded the university spinoff Nomotika. He is coordinator of the European Digital Innovation Hub Circular Health EDIH. He is or has been coordinator of various regional and European projects (ICT4LAW, EUCases, CANP, WeGovNow, Co-city, CO3, PININ, CH4I, NABL4CIT) and of the international PhD in Law, Science and Technology LAST-JD.
