BIP Teaching Economics in the Digital Era
The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Teaching Economics in the Digital Era is an international training programme aimed at developing innovative competences for teaching Economics in higher education, with a particular focus on integrating Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies into teaching and learning processes.
Developed within the Connect-UNITA initiative and delivered in collaboration with several European partner universities, the programme is designed to support academic staff and higher education professionals in the informed use of AI tools, digital resources and data-driven approaches within Economics courses.
Through online learning activities and in-person collaborative sessions, participants will gain practical skills in using artificial intelligence applications for course design, the creation of teaching materials and economic simulations, data analysis, and the development of innovative learning environments.
At the same time, the programme promotes the design of international educational initiatives, such as COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) projects and other collaborative formats among partner universities, fostering the development of transnational and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
The programme is structured in two online phases (April–July 2026 and September–December 2026), followed by an in-person week at the University of Turin from 25th to 29th January 2027.
At the end of the programme, participants will receive a digital credential (Open Badge) certifying the competences acquired in AI-supported Economics teaching and in the design of international educational programmes.
The programme is organised by the University of Turin, with the involvement of the Department of Economics and Statistics “Cognetti de Martiis”, the Teaching and Learning Center, and the UNITA staff, in collaboration with several European partner universities.
