Beyond the Horizon: IES Global Immersive Program Final Event
On 7 October 2026, from 14:30, Beyond the Horizon, the final event of the University of Turin’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Scenarios (IES) Global Immersive Program, will take place at CTE NEXT - Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Torino (Corso Unione Sovietica 216).
The programme involved 18 University of Turin researchers with entrepreneurial aspirations, coming from different disciplines, scientific fields and professional roles, and selected around concrete ideas and projects. Through immersive experiences in Singapore and Silicon Valley, participants had the opportunity to engage with innovation ecosystems that differ geographically, culturally and structurally, exploring different models of interaction between research, creativity, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer and venture creation.
The aim of the programme is to broaden the range of possibilities and opportunities, challenge established perspectives and use international comparison as a way to look at one’s own context through a different lens.
Beyond the Horizon now brings this experience back to Turin and further broadens the international perspective with a keynote by Albert Demargne, Head of Commercialisation at InnovationRCA - Royal College of Art, London (online), presenting another model through which research, creativity, entrepreneurship and venture creation can intersect within a university environment.
The second part of the event will start directly from the IES experience. Eugenio Alladio, Federica Barontini and Sonja Visentin will reflect on the journey from Singapore and Silicon Valley back to Turin in conversation with Michele Osella, Head of Innovation at Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo.
This will be followed by a fireside chat between Stephan Kuester, Managing Partner at Startup Genome (online), and Michele Osella, shifting the focus from individual experience to the wider ecosystem and discussing the conditions that can enable research to translate into innovation and entrepreneurship.
The event will conclude with closing reflections by Valentina Dell’Oste, Member of the University of Turin Spin-off Committee.
The event is part of the Wave by Vento side-event programme, taking place in Turin from 7 to 9 October 2026. Together with the other events in the programme, Wave brings together startups, investors, companies and key actors from the innovation ecosystem.
The IES Global Immersive Program is organised by the University of Turin, designed in collaboration with Startup Genome and delivered with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo.
Participation is free upon registration.
The event will be held in English.
